These compositions were made entirely from sounds recorded near Kilpisjärvi Biological Station in the Finnish Arctic. They include above- and under-water recordings of Lake Kilpisjärvi in winter and summer, the Siilasjoki rapids, alpine streams on the Malla fells, the Kitsiputous waterfall, rain, skiing, footsteps on snow, snow shoveling, drilling through lake ice, drumming on the ice hole, the lake ice shifting and cracking, snowmobiles, the lake ferry, waves, fish vocalizations and a sauna at the edge of the lake. And of course, the hissing of water spirits...
